Canyon Booster Club

Booster Club is the fundraising arm of Canyon Charter School, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization

The most frequent question we're asked is, "What does Booster Club fundraising pay for at Canyon?" Rather than list the endless programs, educators, instruction and enrichment that goes into a year of Booster Club expenditures, watch it now.

All parents and guardians are automatically voting members, and the Booster Club elects board members and approves the next year's annual budget at the May meeting. The Booster Club meets monthly following assemblies.

Canyon Booster is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, run by Canyon parents on a volunteer basis, that drives Canyon’s fundraising and community events.

Throughout the 2019-2020 school year, we aim to raise close to $900,000 dollars ($2,300 per student) in order to offset steep state budget cuts and to keep our academics, enrichment programs, facilities and support services on par with the best elementary schools in the country.

There is a warm and inclusive Canyon community of friends and families here to support you and your child and we hope you and yours will get involved with our team of volunteers who work tirelessly year-round to bring our community together in support of our Canyon students.

How does Booster work?

Canyon Booster is a registered non-profit under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax deductible (EIN: 95-3892101) and Booster is run entirely by unpaid volunteers who are committed to raising much needed funds to support our Canyon students and staff.

100% of funds raised by Booster go right back to our students.

What does Booster pay for?

Among other academic and enrichment support, we cover the areas below:

  • 60% of class instructional aides
  • 100% of the P.E. program, instructor salary etc.
  • 100% of Art & Music
  • 100% of Digital Learning Instructor
  • 100% of Reading Specialist
  • 100% of Science Teacher
  • 100% of upper grade teacher to reduce class size

What are the main events?

Below is the information about ALL of our big events and fundraisers along with dates and leadership / event director contact information. Feel free to reach out to department heads if you want to learn more and / or get involved.

ANNUAL GIVING (year-round) – This is our biggest fundraiser and runs throughout the year. We ask for an Annual Giving donation of $1,850 per student from families so that we can offer Canyon children arts, digital learning, support staff, and smaller class sizes. (Throughout the 2019-2020 school year, we hope to raise an additional $450/student from our other

fundraisers to meet the $2,300/student we need to offset state budget cuts.)

We greatly appreciate any amount your family can contribute to Annual Giving during the 2019-2020 school year.
