How to Enroll
The Palisades Charter Schools Complex provides for the free, nonsectarian, public education of students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Palisades Charter Schools, as neighborhood schools, give first priority in admission to students who live in its attendance area in the Pacific Palisades community of Los Angeles.
If you live within the boundaries of Canyon Charter Elementary School, please complete the enrollment packet available in the office or online in early spring each year.
Prior to receiving the enrollment packet, you will need to provide the office with the following documents:
1. Proof of residence including a property tax statement or lease agreement
2. Original copy of child's birth certificate
3. Parent/Guardian's identification
4. Immunization records
5. Utility bill (gas or DWP)

Students eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for the 2024-25 school year will turn 5 between September 1, 2024 and September 2, 2025. Birthdays should fall between September 1, 2019 and September 2, 2020.
Parent Tours
Please feel free to sign up for a tour of Canyon. You must sign up for a tour ahead of time on our website.
Tours begin promptly at 9am. We are not able to accommodate private tour requests.

Non-Residents:
The Palisades Complex Schools also provide for the education of non-neighborhood students who wish to attend based on the District’s Desegregation or Integration policy*. This is done through a lottery process. The lottery for the 2024-25 school year will be held on Friday, February 9, 2023 at 9am via Zoom.
The application deadline for the Unified Enrollment lottery process is mid November. For more information, please visit: https://goto.lausd.net/ Starting in February, families can apply for the waitlist (late lottery).
Results of the lottery will be posted online after the lottery is held. You will need your student application number to view your place in the lottery list.
The school office will contact families between May - August as seats become available.
*If the number of students who wish to attend a Palisades Charter Complex School exceeds the school’s capacity or the capacity of students that can be accommodated at any grade level, then the admission of new students is determined by a public random drawing [Education Code 47605(d)(2)(B)]. The random drawing for determining admission priority shall take into account the admission and enrollment priorities outlined in Canyon's charter.
